Eligibility Criteria

  • You should have degree in BE/ BTech / M.Tech / MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Expertise in Design and development of Suspension systems, Leaf springs, trunnion suspension, bogie suspension, parabolic springs, air bellows, Reaction rods, V-stays, bump stops ,Casting parts, Forging parts, Sheet metal Parts, Metal and rubber Bushings, Shock absorber, Anti-roll bar, Bolted joints, Welded joints, Clamping, Suspension kinematics, Suspension system calculations, Ride comfort, Handling, Roll stability calculations.
  • 8-12 Years of relevant Work Experience in Suspension system.
  • Overall vehicle level knowledge, understanding of different markets, awareness of legal requirement at system, vehicle level and exposure to customers in field.
  • In depth knowledge of the product development life cycle and change management activities for maintenance.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems with action-oriented mindset.
  • Customer centric mindset and strong sense of engineering ownership in deliverables.
  • Strong team player, Passionate towards work.
  • Solution oriented and high analytical skills.
  • Able to work in collaboration with cross functional teams and perform complex tasks.

Job Description

  • Design and development of suspension system and its components based on application demands, market requirements and project pre-requisites.
  • Perform design calculations, Kinematic studies, creation of 3D models and 2D drawings, envelop creation, design reviews, Design finalization use of design rules/guidelines, design manuals, stack up calculations, Supplier discussions and release Activities.
  • Responsible for the development of products / parts/System in coordination with various stakeholders like purchasing, manufacturing, after market and suppliers and release of the solutions into the system with complete product ownership and tackling quality issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Performs design, testing/validation and/or development projects, effective use of Quality tools within area of assignment to fulfil the project set Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature targets.
  • Generate Value Engineering and Value Analysis (VA/VE) and Continuous Improvement (CI) ideas to reduce product costs and drive/support implementation as needed.
  • Analyze component parts and assemblies to determine the best course of action required to resolve actual or potential problems and implement cost effective solutions.
  • Preparation of DFMEA, DFA, DFM, DFS and other quality tools for components and systems to ensure proactive quality.
  • Support packaging engineers in packaging and installation tasks (e.g. technical reports, packaging investigations, DMU utilization).
  • Build & follow component design time plan to meet project deadline.
  • Evaluate the field complaints / market issues concerning the performance or durability of SAS systems and derive the root cause at system /component levels by analyzing the failures.
  • Responsible to independently drive Cross functional activities to close out development open points and achieve set project deliverables.
  • Must have Global mind-set to work and collaborate with Cross functional teams both locally and Globally.
  • Take Ownership in development of engineering process and method Documents (TR, guidelines, rules etc).
  • Contribute towards knowledge management within the responsible work area.
  • Regularly follow-up progress, problems, and open issues within the assignment and ensure that these are handled and communicated.
  • To escalate issues that need support/assistance from the line or project management.
  • Support in Development and execution of technology roadmap suspension system its components for defined products by collecting the inputs and requirements from the needed stakeholders.
