• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field (design or mechanical engineering) plus 4-6 years of experience in sheet metal design.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at a time.
• Proficient in sheet metal fabrication manufacturing process, welding, materials, finishes and hardware.
• Ability to recognize and follow detailed drafting standards.
• Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with SolidWorks (2D and 3D), SolidWorks PDM experience a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
• Must possess medium to high complexity mechanical aptitude and design efficiency.
• Ability to work with a team and engage in hands-on work.

Responsible for designing new products and making improvements to existing products. Prepares concept, assembly, and component drawings, purchased part specifications and bill of materials (BOM). Supports operations staff to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner. Follows testing and product release procedures. Requires minimal direction and takes ownership of executing projects tied to strategic objectives. This position is located primarily in Social Circle, Georgia.

• Creates bill of materials in JDE
• Creates CAD models.
• Creates production drawings in SolidWorks.
• Designs sheet metal parts and assemblies
• Creates DXF files.
• Creates spec sheets for purchased parts and assemblies with pictures and technical specifications.
• Creates documents for purchased and customer-supplied spec sheets.
• Maintains PDM files and ECN releases.
• Manages high complexity projects based on the customer requirements in the short duration and tight deadlines. 
• Leads and manages design reviews, verification, and validation process; bill of material (BOM) reviews with other departments such as Material, Production, Engineering and Quality.
• Schedules and leads meetings for new product development and product related continuous improvement projects. 
• Works with procurement to source newly purchased components, need to talk to purchasing team over the phone call.
• information needed for production, assists with questions and production issues in timely manner- Phone connection required.
• Assists with creation of new product standards; creates and supports training tools-PDF or PPT or Documents.
• Performs under minimal direction; considerable latitude for un-reviewed decision making and action; provides guidance/direction to lower-level designers and takes ownership of executing projects tied to strategic objectives.
