Job Overview

The Quality Control Engineer role at Arakkonam ensures quality control processes and inspections are done according to best practices.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Certification in quality management systems (e.g., ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with quality software and ERP systems.
  • Prior experience in cement equipment manufacturing is a significant plus.
  • Strong knowledge of QAP, IP quality control processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using measurement tools and testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards for heavy equipment (e.g., ASTM, DIN, ISO).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and other quality tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Job Description

  • Perform inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Monitor production processes and identify potential quality issues early in the manufacturing cycle.
  • Conduct dimensional checks, mechanical tests, and other relevant evaluations to ensure product quality.
  • Investigate product defects and process deviations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, including ISO, ASTM, and other relevant certifications.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure products meet all compliance standards.
  • Work with suppliers to address quality concerns and improve material reliability.
  • Investigate non-conformities, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Reviews and approves processes for inspection of inbound material to ensure that quality standards are met.
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials from suppliers, ensuring they meet specified requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
  • Prepare quality control reports and present findings to supervisors and stakeholders.
  • Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities.
